Who we are

Universal Apparel was established November 2017 by founder and CEO Kiara Hunter.  Universal Apparel Designs was created to represent family, positivity, love, and success. “When people wear my clothes I want them to feel the energy of what the brand represents.”  

The brand uses fashion to spread positive messages that will keep you uplifted all while looking fly. We also allow custom orders to help bring your vision to life. Our mission is to provide high quality apparel and leave an impact in the world with our fashionable messages

Our story

As young as I can remember I‘ve always wanted to build a clothing brand, but often debated if I would ever make it happen. For years I would draw out sketches of designs or write down different ideas waiting on the right moment to execute my plan.
 
In 2014 my babygirl was born and my life changed.  Becoming a mother gave me a different outlook on life.  I started to think about legacy.  I wanted to create something that I could one day pass down to her while also making my family proud. 
 
I shared my vision with my parents first and they were 100% supportive which was a blessing; they told me to go for it.  
So in 2016 I took time to research how to start a business; I watched videos on how to do designs; I went to different conferences in several cities; and I met with different business owners to watch their  process to make shirts. I became fascinated with it all and knew it was time for me to start my journey.
 
With my drive to put in the work along with the support of my family, I was able to launch my business, Universal Apparel Designs.  
 
Having my family behind me was key for me being able to do this, which is why when I promote I always include them.
